Glen:

I did see the thread you mentioned but it appeared to be for the N/A
injector connectors, so I did not give it much credence. The 7MGE was
mentioned specifically, to the exclusion of the 'GTE in the thread you
mentioned. boogiesurfer wrote to the thread you mentioned in 2007 about
getting a few connectors, again for the N/A. Since I have a GTE I do
not know if the connectors are the same.

There is another answer for injector connectors if the latches break
off: use a thin bead of non-acetic acid curing RTV to hold the male and
female connector shells together. The common silicone or RTV produces
acetic acid during curing from moisture in the air, causing contact
corrosion. The connectors will remain reasonably tight but can still be
removed, using a thin enough sealer bead. One possibility is DOW 738
electrical sealant.

Re: Elnhurst Toyota now comes up as Advantage Toyota in Long Island.
Guess I do not understand how they could have connector parts if they
are not distributed in the USA. Do they get them specifically for US
customers?

Doing electronics work, AMP does a number of custom limited run special
connectors for various purposes. It does not mean that they will always
be available.
