FWIW my HVAC buddy has my toy up and running on R-414B. All we did was vacuum the system down after R-12 was spent during the evaporator and expansion valve replacement last year.
hth,
Rockey 91T - who knows nothing about AC but is lucky enough to have a friend who does it for a living :)

Subject: [Supras] A/C questions
Hello list, I'm BAAAACK.....
Some one from the list sold me an A/C compressor and I am very happy with it. However, any decals or markings seem to be worn off; so I'm not exactly sure how to order rebuild parts for it....or even if I should. I know just enough to be dangerous with A/C. I have recharged a few boat systems....some use 134A and some use R-22. I do not know if either my kid's 1990 car or the unknown year compressor I have are (or have been) used with 134A. The compressor has a fitting on it similar to a large, male air chuck on a shop air compressor, only with a shrader valve in it. Does this give a clue what type of refrigerant was last in it and/or if it WILL work with 134A?
I would not mind replacing compressor seals if I knew what to buy. I know I should get a new drier and I know I need the proper oil to go with the refrigerant. We do have nitrogen and an evacuation pump at work but nothing that ties into that fitting. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
