[Supras] MAFT-Pro Installed and running :)

Just had to acquire a piece of tubing to replace the AFM and facilitate a pipe thread bung on an after intercooler pipe for the IAT sensor. I'm actually moving the IAT to down below the right front headlight to reduce the heat soak which I currently see with it installed right before the throttle body over the intake side valve cover. I can actually see the intake air temperature climb on the sensor monitor while the engine compartment heats up.

I held up my install awaiting the SSQV and hardpipe that took longer to receive than I expected but after that a few hours of pulling wires, mounting sensors, soldering in splices and initial programming of basic settings the install went well. I even left the stock BOV in place in addition to the SSQVboth vented to atmosphere and am happy to report no recoil from the turbo anymore when I let off.

One other thing – sounds like the system is complete from SS.
Was there anything besides the full install kit you needed to buy?

Yep, I'm using the MAFT boost
controller and it is considerably more stable than the shimmed wastegate
controller I was using before. It is programmable with rpm, duty cycle and TPS
position.

Are you using MAFT-Pro or a vehicle specific MAFT? I believe the Pro is the
only unit that supports the boost controller. Also, I'm running speed density
setup but that shouldn't have any direct effect on the boost control itself.

I've attached a word doc you may find of interest as well.

Are you using the boost control of the MAFT-Pro?

My Apexi controller is kinda flaky, and I've had the standard maft
(using a gm afm) for a while. How is the boost control feature?
Might
be time to upgrade.

Thanks,
Don

Hookup and immediate drivability was easier than I expected. I do have a
check engine light error code (24) indicating air temp sensor that is
new and 51 which I had before which I suspect is the clutch depressed
switch.
It seems to runs better and I notice the spool is a bit slower but
that's probably due to my initial conservative boost settings.

The MAF-T Pro can cause a check engine light because it takes longer to
boot than
the TCCS, so there is no AFM signal until it does. This causes the TCCS
to think
that the AFM may not be properly connected and lights the CEL. There
are some work-
arounds.

I'm thinking about going with the MAF-T Pro myself, though I don't know
if I'm ready
to go there yet.
