Ok, I'll bite...
How much force does it take to shear 5 studs off?
I assume it is possible but I have never seen it happen...
I find it hard to believe that Nascar is using hub centric rims, maybe they
are?
But I am sure someone has left the pits with 4 lugs and you don't see rims
coming off every day.

Within WHAT reasonable limit?
That friction can be overcome..it is not a reliable engineering tool
in such critical operation.
Studs suck for sheer forces.
