May be a 1978 or earlier car............but most likely a late 1978 like mine.
My 78 labeled as a Supra also was made in Japan in late 1978.
The VIN number is 10 digits which is not found by Google VIN searches.
According to Toyota my car was part of a special run in late 1978 to meet demand while they were ramping up to build the 1979 model of Supra.
Toyota says the left hand drive models were delivered only to the Canadian and US west coasts and the rest were right hand drives kept in Japan or shipped to other countries.....New Zealand and Australia jumps to mind.
I believe In the US Vin digits went to 17 or so a year later, but I could be wrong on the year.
Anyway, Google says a valid VIN number currently is 17 digits.
So go figure.
