I just found this on the Parts America website

The instructions in the embedded link from this page qoute low side 
pressure of 25 - 45 psi @ 75F - 85F
Kind of a wide range ........................

So I'm gonna take Bob's advice, slap the gauges on it and if Low side 
is on the low end of that range I'll top off, if not I'll .......... errrrr
Well I guess I'll see if high side pressure is what I'd "expect" and 
then try full monty repair!
