[Supras] Cherokee A/C leak

Google "Ford's Black Death" and you will see what I am talking about.
Beyond that, ask any AC tech what he does when a compressor detonates and
spreads metal shavings through out the system. They sell inline filters to
catch the stuff that is just too hard to remove
Once bad stuff get in an AC system it is almost impossible to remove it. In
a perfect world all mineral oil would be removed from a system before it is
converted to R134a. Luckily small amounts of mineral oil is fine with 134a
or else we would be pulling all of the parts off and flushing each one out
I understand the theory that the sealers are working on but I doubt there is
any long term studies saying how well or how long they last.
Most cars when they get to the point that the DIYers are working on them
they are in the final years of their life (Supras not included) so if the
fix lasts a season most of the cars won't be alive the next year to care

But most people/shops use what they use because that's what they use.

Whoa.... How'd metal shavings get in the equation? Why would you remove
the oil? Ac systems require a synthetic oil to be in the system.
