Have you driven the car? ECU needs to learn for a bit before its all stable.

To be honest, it would not crank right off the bat; but that was because when we were stripping down the engine, prior to taking it out, the negative battery cable somehow got re-connected and I arced the alternator cable to ground. This took out the 100 amp fuse. Ooops. Anyway, that's fixed, the engine starts and runs. Timing has been set to 10 BTDC; and yes, I did the TE1 to E1 thing. It was loosing a cylinder at first and running quite rich....#1 plug was black and exhaust smelled like an old choke being stuck on. I thought, "Oh great; now we have injectors hanging up." But after awhile, that went away and the thing idles smooth, quiet and generally never sounded so good. No more engine rap, etc. No obvious leaks or weird noises. So far, so good.

I checked the dash pot thing by taking the little filter off and blocking the hose while at a high idle. The dashpot holds it there. It does seem like, when it's hooked up normally, it drops to its lowest point a bit faster than I remember.... but this stalling was never a problem, before.
