AND YOU HAVE AN INFINITI IN THE DRIVEWAY!
Sacrilegious!
Tell me you just let your neighbor park there...

I just caught your other post saying you are/were a boat mech...
I have an excellent condition 1988 21' Checkmate with a built 225HP
engine on a 220EFI frame. I'm going to put the rails back on the nose,
but otherwise it's complete.

better about it, I guess. If muscle were my only concern, we have a gigantic
torque multiplier at work. The problem is holding the engine from turning. I
know.....hold the flywheel. It's a little awkward, though, in the vehicle.
Whatever; I'll git 'er done. A character flaw of mine is that I never, ever,
give up.

something that is VERY common in the marine business: How about a three
liter (same as the Supra) four cylinder engine that's meant to tow water
skiers and/ or go pounding across the waves at 4800 RPM indefinitely, with a
dampener pulley that is simply pulled onto the crank shaft with a tool
consisting of a 1/2' nut and piece of fine threaded rod. That's IT.....There
IS NO BOLT AT ALL!!!!!! Those pistons are much larger than the Supra's. Two
giant pulses per revolution. Keep in mind, too, that a boat at WOT is
something like driving your car up a mountain at 80 mph. So, imagine my
surprise about the dampener torque on a Supra. That's it.....just surprised,
interested in the reason. Thanks again to all, even the funny guys, for the
thoughts. I pay attention to them all.
