[Supras] Cam gear timing difficulties

First, that photo wasn't taken with the crank at 0TDC was it?  If so, your cams are way advanced, gear notches should be straight up.

The other possibility is that while the cam pin is in the middle hole on the cam gear, it's not in the middle hole on the camshaft itself.  That would cause a huge (about 30 cam degrees) error in cam timing one way or the other.

And <ahem> you do have spark plugs installed, right?
