Dear Jon:


    Thanks for the reply.  Looks very good.  As stated before, I've 
never seen a hood lifted in a NJ inspection line, but then again it may 
happen by pulling a car off into an area not visible to the mainstream.  
At this point I have little if any doubt about tailpipe emissions being 
OK, with the exception of NOx, as I still need to check EGR operation.  
Then again, poor performance with the stock front exhaust system may 
have been from glycol poisoning and clogging. 

   
    Interestingly my '87 Chevy van 301 CID does about as well or 
possibly better, but I always retard the spark by about 10 degrees 
before inspection, good for CO and HC, but too much retard will raise 
NOX levels.
