Where do you live in MD?
I'm down in St. Mary's county, and although we have no smog, I had a hard
time passing the visual inspection.
First place failed me due to no EGR, no charcoal canister, misaligned
headlights (they are perfect), and a small chip in the windshield.
My engine was not stock at all (custom front facing intake manifold, custom
intercooler hardpipes, big intercooler, running a MAF translator in blow
through, 3" exhaust, one cat near the rear of the tranny, and a loud
muffler.
Funny thing is, the previous owner had painted over the emissions diagram on
the underside of the hood near the front, when he painted the hood. There
was no way you would notice it was there. Shop found it and wiped off the
paint to make sure that my emissions equipment was hooked up correctly :(
yes, I now have all my emissions stuff installed and functioning.
