Hey, fellow Supes! I'm gettin' kinda exited about SILV this year, and we're
still 6 months away!

If you've been around the group for any amount of time (less than a year or
an old timer), then you're probably just starting getting your car prepped
for the biggest gathering of Toyota Supras on the Planet...Supras Invade Las
Vegas XII! If you haven't started, GET GOING NOW!

The AZ contingent has always been pretty active with Vegas, both in terms of
participation and event involvement. 2007 had it's challenges due to some
schedule conflicts, but those have been taken care of for '08. Keith and
the SILV Team are putting together many of the changes requested on this and
other message boards so that 2008 could be the best Invades EVER.

The dates are October 2-4, 2008. We currently have RFP's out for our
official hotel (Luxor is still in the running), but we're not ruling out
making changes this year in how we've done things in the past. That also
means fundamental changes in how things are done and paid for. Yes, that
means that there will be a Registration Fee, but with that also comes a bevy
of discounts and additional VIP benefits for those that pre-Register
on-line. We're even toying with the idea of having TWO Poker tournaments:
One for most of us sub-$100 players, and a possible High-Roller game, either
a Tournament or perhaps a CASH game with some of the Big National names in
the Supra Community! Contact me directly if you have Q's about Poker at my
email address above.

As always, all of this is currently in the works and some stuff will change,
but the BUZZ is that SILV '08 will be Great!
-Event Poker Chips are scheduled to be back by popular demand!
-More of an emphasis will be put on bringing folks together and getting to
know who's who when your there.
-Additional money will be raised and spent to add value to the experience at
EVERY LEVEL!
-More committed folks have come forward to help out...not just with their
ideas, but with their ACTIONS!

Where will you be on that weekend?

I'm goin' to Vegas with the Supras, Baby!
And this year, there will be PLENTY to do and see in these short three days.

I CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT, and I'm working the dang event!

For every year since 1987, I've been there, both with and without a Supra,
as strictly a participant and then a volunteer, for the love of the
camraderie and these PITA cars...Oh, and the fun of being in Vegas and
paying for most of my trips with BlackJack winnings.

I can honestly say that I'm looking more forward to this year than I have to
the past FIVE.

I'm sure there may be things that might not work out for everyone, but I can
tell you that you will NOT want to be anywhere else on these three days
coming up in 6 months. That should be just enough time to get your car
road-worthy, show-worthy or even race-worthy!
I'll finally be jettisoning my OG stocker CT in favor of the new 60-trim
turbo into Sarah.
Should be good for ~375-400 rwhp with my current mods and mid-low 13's if I
can put some sticky tires on her. :-)

The CARS, the EVENTS, the VENUE, the LAUGHS, the SPEED and the PEOPLE that
make this event one of the best Supra events that you won't want to miss!
The old-guard will be in heavy this year to show all the new blood how it's
done.

SEE YOU THERE!

Steve Michael, SILV Poker Tournament Coordinator

ps...Have you guys seen the $H!+ on some the other forums? Seems like our
MkIII Canadian Cover Boy (Trent) is throwing down over 800 hp on his 7m on
only the turbo, and he's looking to spank some Super-Orange MkIII on both
the rollers and The Strip! We finally have some MkIII's representin'!

Rumor also has it that some long-time MkIV players are coming back into the
mix to mix-it-up and take care of some long-standing feuds, including some
of the big teams. No BUGS this year (that I know of), and the GN's are
tentatively on the schedule to take some more WhoopAss.
Nothing like some good ol' smack flyin' around to get the juices flowin'!
