Well, I milled both head and block at work but I rather have a mirror finish and take no chances. The finish is almost perfect, but that is why there are different steps to any process. Unfortunately we do not profilometer both all I could measure was the flatness of the head on the CMM and it came to less than a thou. We have a full machine shop for R & D as well as some in-house jobs:

-1 Kitamura 3xif sparkchanger (Vertical)
-1 Kitamura 3xif (Vertical)
-1 Kitamura hx300i (Horizontal)
-1 Mazak vtc16a (Vertical)
-1 Mori Seiki sl204 (Lathe)
-1 Manual Mill and Lathe.

If any of you have ideas for parts you would like machined let me know, we can talk about it. I am in the process of making a few things in my spare time.

I saw that plate at McMaster's but I thought it was too small and not heavy enough, although the price is good.

Regards,
