[Supras] IC hoses and clamps

I've noticed from some manufacturers that tack a piece of wire with this
intention, that if the wire is too thick or does not create a closed
loop, it allows for an unsealed area between the pipe and coupler. This
may not cause noticeable problems on the compressor inlet (other than
unmetered/unfiltered air) but would certainly cause problems on the
pressurized side. A rolled lip or small bead seems to work well.

T-bolts are best, but I have honestly yet to have a coupler come loose
with screw type and stock clamps. If they are properly sized, I've found
they work well even at 14-15 psi for quite a few years. I do use T-bolts
on the TB/3000 pipe connection, just never upgraded elsewhere.

Jim, Joe:

Thanks for the information. I did intend to braze a piece of perhaps
#12 wire bent in a circle around the tubing ends. But that is not
possible to do with the turbo. The T-bolt clamps you mention: Are they
the ones with the bolt at right angles to the clamp, that draws in both
ends of the clamp strap when tightened?

Take care.

Bernie
