What kind of problems with Al? I've got a few miles and months on my Fidanza without issue so far.... It looks to have a replaceable steel faceplate in case I ever need to do that in the hopefully distant future. It certainly seems to spool up a bit faster now and I think I correctly attribute the more grabby engagement to the dual friction clutch disk. I did go one piece drive shaft but stuck with steel vs. Al in that case.

Subject: [Supras] Lightened steel/chromoly flywheels?
Does anyone know if there are lightened steel or chromoly flywheels
available for the 7m? I've heard many stories in the past of folks
having trouble with Al. units and I'm hoping to get the drivetrain to
rev a little easier (has always been slow to rev although I'm sure
smoothness will suffer) in the offseason. I had seen some 'light' steel
units on ebay a while back but seems they're only for 1jz now. Maybe
these issues have been corrected but I'm hoping this engine will hold
out for a while longer and don't want to chance a problem.
Thanks,
Brian
