I'm not sure how easy it is to remove this on the mk3 (don't know if the
ABS computer talks to the main computer and would store codes, etc) but
before doing so make sure you know how this effects driving. Some folks
have probably never felt ABS on their cars, others do fairly often. I've
run mine w/o abs at a track in heavy rain, it's a whole different animal
when the system isn't there to help out and you begin to slide. Repaired
the sensor and haven't run without it since, this was taking it easy due
to the downpour, on 8/32" depth treads. Panic braking is not something
you want to incur w/o ABS.

Without looking at an ABS car would it be practical just to remove the
ABS
and dropping the weight?
