That is the standard Supra starting problem. I put another solenoid in so
the ignition flips that solenoid and that solenoid sends power to the
starter solenoid. Fixed the problem completely. Very similar to the
Mustang starter solenoid but I liked this way better. Just use a bosch
30/40A solenoid and splice it into the blue wire that normally would trigger
the starter solenoid. Then run a wire from the hot side of the start to the
solenoid and then to the trigger side of the starter. I've attached a
wiring diagram, it won't make it to the list, so any listers that want it
email me and I'll send it to you.

Subject: [Supras] 11$ Mustang External Soleniod bypass?
Steve Michael said on another topic:
"BTW, thanks again for the electric diagnosis stuff a few years ago with my
bad starter/solenoid. Even though you said differently, the $11 Mustang
external solenoid bypass for my 90 Auto definitely cured the problem."
I wonder if it might cure my problem. Starter and Solinoid are rebuilt and
have been in the car a year without problems, now the solenoid stops working
in the heat of the day. At night, it works fine. Starter relay and neutral
safty switch have been checked and they work fine. It could possibly be the
starter switch, but I think it's in the solenoid, because it is intermitent
based on heat.
What was your problem?
