Chris, two laps sounds like a very poorly run event or one where some
sort of bad occurrence took place (like a grenading engine spilling
everywhere or multi-car collision) We've had an older fellow that forgot
to tighten the drain plug last year and left oil on 1/2 the course.
Everyone pitched in to cleanup, all did a parade lap to make sure it was
ok and I think we ended up with 5 instead of 6 laps for that heat. Most
SCCA clubs shoot for 4 runs and it's a lot to spend an entire day out
there for a few min. of driving. NASA runs my series locally and we've
had anywhere from 8-20 runs (normally 8-10) depending on course size and
turnout. Many clubs are also doing a split day format where you work/run
the morning or afternoon so there's only a 1/2 day input. (except for
the staff of course) I was at an event last year where only 3 laps were
offered because weather slowed down a course didn't accommodate a lot of
spins. Some folks still mention that one, 2 laps may have ensued a small
riot :)
See if that's normal for the club, if so see if there is another around.
Seat time is what it's all about and that's very little of it.

Houston AutoX is in the parking lot of the dog track.
It takes about 60 seconds to make a lap. I was able to
make two laps. For that I worked a corner all day in
Houston heat. You guys seem to have a more interesting
AutoX life.
David, what are you building? 675 just not enough huh?
