[Supras] Bare bones NA from hell

Well, my little buddy the '90 NA engine has been taken apart down to the bare block. Guess I have to do some reading about how Toyota does main and crank bearings. All I know is American; but I have a rough idea of the difference, from Yamaha outboards.

The head came back from the machine shop with a BEAUTIFUL finish. They said they had to remove .023", because not only was the previous finish done with a belt sander, there was a deeper crevice where the same someone had tried to remove more stock with a wheel of some sort.

Now the block is there, too, to be decked. It has erosion from blow-by around the gasket's fire rings.

Found a screwdriver hole though the front seal. Five correct flywheel bolts plus one odd ball. Bent belt tensioner pulley. Bent pulley bracket. Two broken piston rings, yet no ridge. Does anyone know how they might identify oversize bores and pistons? Might be a reman engine. There are a lot of weird numbers stamped on the deck and oil pan gasket surfaces. All "twos." Thanks for your support (and sympathy. Ha ha.)

Bill
