[Supras] Sealant for head gasket?

Hey guys,

Well, the Supra rookie (trying for Rookie of the Year, though...) has his Cometic 2mm head gasket in hand. They recommend a dry installation. To me, this seems like begging for a leak, especially with the different rates of thermal expansion going on. Any thoughts? Also, I know everyone is torquing them higher than spec. I'm okay with that, to a point; however, when I look at the thread pitch on the head bolts, as opposed to, say, a 350 Chevy head bolt, I have to wonder if the spec is not, at least CLOSE, to okay. Seems like winding up to 75-85 foot pounds on that fine a thread would over-stress the bolt, threads or head, as it would be creating a lot more vertical force than on a similarly torqued American head bolt with more coarse threads. After all, bolts are just circular wedges. I know there are engineer types out there. Whadda ya think, over? Thanks...
