Hello all!!
After going through a ton of crap the last 7 months, almost losing my
mother (whatever any of you do, never, ever put a loved one in a nursing
home, not even for rehabilitation, which is what the dr's told me to do).
The worst hell you could ever go through!
Regardless, I began work on my car which has been sitting in the garage for
about 2 yrs w/out turning on! I have a 1986.5 N/A & stock fuel imjectors
went bad. I changed the fuel injectors from stock N/A to stock turbo 440s.
After speaking with various people & my mechanic, I decided to do the
change albeit with some additions. I brought the ARP fuel regulator kit
from JCorbat and brought the Venom module. I changed the oil from reg to
the purple stuff. changed the vacuum hoses to silicone. Bypassed the
J-tube, cleaned the throttle body, changed the rubber hose to custom made
steel one from throttle body to AFM (actually left the AFM that came with
it on). The problem before was that the engine was hesitating & I would
press on accelleration & it would still die. Now, when I initially started
her up she hesitates a bit 7 then starts & sound great, but some has been
coming up from intake manifold or tranny (not sure where it's from) I
brought up the ARP regulator to about 35 & that did help the running rich
problem, but still baffled as to origin of smoke? Have done all the work
myself, but still very much a novice and needed some help! thanks to all.
