Mike,
The damage looks to be minimal at best!! I see no reason to junk the car with that minor amount of damage. Definitely less damage than was done to Greg Altig's '92T (Suprarossa). If you don't have the car repaired yourself, please sell it to someone who will. Not some MK2 owner who wants to strip it and use the drivetrain in a MK2 chassis!! Keep this car on the road and out of the scrap yard!

Here are some photos I took. I did some work and removed the spoiler and
gave it a nice wash tonight. It doesn't look too bad from the pictures
(bottom section):

But more than I have time for now. You can see the dented fuel tank, dented
bumper. The rear hatch is dented in a few places. The back end is squished
in a bit. You can see the crumpling in the trunk compartment. Heck,
someone with a parts car for the rear parts could fix it up. I might even
sell the whole thing to someone who is ambitious. I contacted State Farm,
and I am waiting to hear back from them. They seem much better than
Progressive. This seems to be an omen to switch. I'll keep you all
updated.
