Michael,
If it's of any help, my 90T was annihilated by someone hopped up on meth while parked out in front of my house.  His insurance company gave me ~$4750 + tax for about $5100 total.

You nailed it, they need sales and/or for sale data on comparable vehicles to determine value.  But there's no way they should be giving wholesale value (dealer trade as you indicate).  It should be retail (private party).

Check Autotrader.com too.
