Mike, so sorry to hear it. I've seen you post about getting your car
right for years, going from SSIP (which I once thought was Stainless
Intercooler piping :) ) to nicely modded. Any chance you'll look for
another or do you think you'll move on to another project? I would have
thought it would be worth a little more than $2800 as my insurance still
costs a few bucks more than our 07' FJ. Maybe full coverage isn't worth
it on our cars anymore.
Take care,
Brian

We have lost another one from our ranks.
So I just got word back from my insurance company. They are totaling my
car due to my recent accident. The light turned red and I stopped, the
lady behind me in the Ford SUV didn't and slammed into the back of me,
she has
accepted liability. The damage isn't extreme, but probably enough. My
own
insurance company said my 1989 Turbo is only worth $2890. They felt
this was a fair price collected by how much a dealer would buy a similar
car for.
I think they are full of it, so I am trying to collect sales data on
Supras.
So if you have any details of recent sales I would appreciate if you
sent it
on to me. My location is Southern California.
My plan is to part out the car after I get that all the insurance stuff
settled. The car itself is a 1989 Turbo with metallic grey outside and
grey interior, very good condition, and I did the 5-speed swap. Most
everything is in beautiful condition and I have lots of after market
parts. Local buyers preferred of course :). Get your lists ready!
And don't worry; the site will still be up. This means I'll probably
have more time to work on it :).
