[Supras] 255 front tires, anyone???

I know the tire will fit the wheel (255 would be ~9.4 tread on 9" wheel) I was asking about clearance as far as rubbing the fender, etc. I've test fot my current rear 17x9 +44 w/ 255/40/17 and it barely touches the splash gaurd at full lock. This wheel combo would sit 9mm further out so it may not hit at all.

Geoff, you think I'd be better off using the wider wheel to tire ratio? (235 w/ 9" and 255 w/ 10" vs. 255 and 275 on the same wheels?)

255s up front will require at least 9" rims..less thn that and you'll have issues at the track brian.

the closer to 1:1 the tire/wheel width is, the better the track handling will be by far.

Tire not supported by rim directly underneath it, will wobble, deform, roll, and overall wear the tire out very quickly compared to a well sized combo.

Go to a dealer that sells Toyo Tires. Ask them for one of the small
catalogs and look at the tire sizes and what rims they will fit. I think
you can do this online, too.

Also, the rears mat rub the fender on bumps, and the fronts might hit
the frame on turns. I put wide tires on a Tercel, but couldn't steer to
the locks. (Didn't have to! That thing would turn about 90 degrees at
the locks!!!)
