In theory... it is less likely to vibrate and will make up for any variances
between the transmission and the rear differential.
In theory only because others here have proven that one piece units work...
I think 300zx's have the same type of system, maybe it is a Japanese thing

It seems that there is enough long-term experience with the 1-piece
driveshafts here to say they work well and are reliable. Any thoughts as to
why Toyota didn't do that in the first place? It seems like a much simpler
solution than the 2-piece driveshaft with a center support bearing.

I sold dozens of those things when I lived in Tulsa...they work fantastic.
I'll get one for my 87T "Forever Project" this summer im sure.
Just gotta get the details worked out..like..make the headlights work.
