Brian,
I've had a 1 piece AL driveshaft from the Driveshaft Shop in my 90 T (5 speed) for about 4 years now . When I first got it (after a much longer delay than originally promised) it was vibrating my supra into pieces! I returned it and they rebalanced it for me and since then I don't have a vibration problem. But a transmission oil leak started ever since I install it the first time. My guess is that the first one took out the output shaft oil seal due to the vibration. I haven't replaced the oil seal yet cuz I had no time (I've been topping it off the trans oil periodically, and yes it made a mess underneath the car) so I don't know yet if replacing the oil seal will stop the leak.
The bottom line: I am going to recommend for you to go with SS because I think they might have better quality assurance than other sources, plus they will know the correct dimensions of the drive shaft for your particular supra. And yes, it is more noisy than the stock drive shaft.

Regards,
/Khalid 90 T
