[Supras] Car covers?

I think it was mainly my carelessness over many years, I would basically roll the cover up on the hood like a sleeping bag by pulling it forward. As it was dragged forward it would rub against the mirrors. I never noticed it until last year, and by then the damage was done. I am still daily driving it and so the cover is coming on and off every day for most of the year.

Subject: Car covers?
Hi Jon,
Thanks for the reply! Do you know of anyway I can prevent that rub off
to occur? Do you think a more expensive brand might be less abrasive to
the paint? I just had my Supra painted so I am very concerned about the
clear coat coming off, had 3 coats of it put on.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I've used the Costco car covers for many years now. The seem to last
about 2-3 years here
in Southern California before the sun breaks the fabric down. They are
not custom, but the
fit of the large size seems to be a pretty close match to the Supra.
The only issue I have
is that repeated removal of the cover has worn the clear coat off the
paint on the mirror
surfaces that
contact the cover.
