I converted my 89 to 134a almost 2 years ago... it works fine in Miami

The biggest cost in the conversion is the tools needed.

$125 for a vacuum pump on EBay
$ 75 for gauges on EBay

Most of the other stuff you need will cost around $100

It isn't rocket science.

I have 12oz of R12 that you can have for around $15 shipped if there isn't
some rule about sending Freon in the mail. I even have a hose to fill it up.

I think I better get an experienced AC mechanic to look at this one.  If I 
can get it diagnosed, i'd attemt to fix it myself but I don't know where I'd

get the r12 from.

Anyone know a trusted mechanic in Tampa or surrounding area?
