[Supras] Key hole light?

 My first Supra I had was a 90 model. When the doors were locked and you lifted 
the drivers side door handle the interior lights would come on and also a light
in the drivers side door key hole would come on. Now I got a 89 model and the
key hole does not light up.
 Should it be like the 90 model or does it not have this feature?
If it has it, could there be a bulb blown in it, or a blown fuse? Has anybody
ever replaced it?  This feature is very good. When it is dark it keeps you from
scratching the paint when trying to find the keyhole.
