I've contemplated a spare tire well enclosure... and a leaking spoiler gasket has recently pointed out why it may not be the best idea. Anyone out there get expensive equpment water damaged? The hatch area is vulnerable to leaks, which may go unnoticed for quite some time because you just don't see it. My last setup was above the trunk false floor (non-targa car) which was fine. But I now have a targa and I want to retain the rear hatch targa storage, so I'm looking under the false floor again.
Sure, I can replace the spoiler gaskets, but what happens when the taillight gaskets start leaking and it's 3 months before I notice that?
