I've never seen oil pressure drop on any of my 5-600+ rwhp pulls,
however, instead of fixing one direction why not fix all directions.
IE make the sump bigger, increasing oil volume at the same time, and
bury the oil pickup in it. You do turn and brake right? :-)

There are some very well respected participants in this group who maintain that position of the 7M stock pickup is adequate under strong acceleration. However, from measurements taken and from simple physics and trigonometry I do not agree that the stock location is best from a standpoint of at least transiient oil starvation under hard acelleration Again will all due respect, it appears to me that a further rearward oil pickup location would be better under hard acceleration.

The existing pickup support could be tied to a piece of 3/16" steel sheet stock retained under the right 6th main bearing bolt, in the same manner as now supported to the block. Of courxe, a new pickup hole would need to be cut in the oil pan baffle to accomodate the rearward relocatiion of the pickup.
