Hey Gene, sorry I never got back to you. Got caught up with all my Supra
accident stuff. Accidents are annoying. Here is the scoop on the gaskets:

Oil Pan:
You most likely have to remove the engine to do it. But its is also not
very likely that this one is leaking. I have a leak that appeared to be
that but it was from something else. After you get the other gaskets fixed,
give everything a good cleaning and then you can track down the source
better.

Valve Cover:
These are the two under the cam covers. They are long and rectangular. You
can see how to replace them here:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTips/head_retorque.aspx

That is for retorquing your head bolts but its basically the same tear down.
While you have everything off clean it well, to help find leaks better.
While you are here getting to the cam shaft seals some more steps.

Cam Shaft Seals:
These seals are under front engine cover. Mine is removed in the pictures
because it makes working on the car that much easier. To remove the cover
you have to remove the upper radiator hose which is a PITA so I left mine
off. Once you get that off you need to loosen the tensioner and remove the
spring then slide the timing belt off, next remove the cam gears, then the
cam gear cover, then you can see the seals. Remove the seals put new ones
in and reassemble. Here you can see all the parts:

And here are the instructions on doing it start on the next page. If you
have never done this before it can be a lot. Plus you are bound to find
'surprises'.

Subject: [Supras] help with replacing some gaskets??

Hey all!

Apparently I'm leaking some oil, and it's looking pretty serious. I took
it to pep boys and they said they do some oil leak test thing, so I had them
do that and they came back and told me I was leaking from the VALVE COVER
GASKET, OIL PAN GASKET, and the CAM & CRANK SEAL.

Now, I have no idea what any of those are but I have no more money so I'm
pretty much stuck with having to do this by myself. From my understanding,
the engine has to be removed for the oil pan gasket to be replaced, so
that's definitely not getting changed for awhile. Hopefully, that's not
where most of the oil's leaking from... a friend said I could just seal it
with some sorta sealant stuff for now, so I guess I'll check it out.

As far as the valve cover gasket goes, are those the two things running
over the camshafts? Cause I just recently replaced those, so someone
mentioned the bolts holding down the covers may need replacing. The thing
about that was the pep boys people wanted to charge me 69.99 for a valve
cover gasket, and when I asked him if that was for the pair, the guy told me
I only have on valve cover gasket. I'm... confused. Maybe we're both
calling two different parts of the car the same thing? Anyway, hopefully
it's just the bolt thinggys on the car that need tightening....

Which brings me to the main point of this post haha(sorry it's so
long...), how difficult is it to replace the cam & crank seals? Someone
mentioned that it was just like replacing the timing belt or something? But
considering I've never replaced a timing belt before, I have no idea how
involved it is. Anyway, I was wondering if someone could do a step by step
thing with me or point me out to a website or something that describes the
process well enough for a complete neophyte like me to understand :D OR if
any of ya'll are around the Irvine or San Fernando Valley area, if you could
give me a hand haha, I'd very much appreciate it.

  Anyway, thanks in advance!!

PS how do ya'll get your engine bay's lookin so clean?! do you just
douse everything with simple green or something? :D

PPS i remember a MPG thread from a lil bit ago and I was wondering how
much ya'll get to a tank. The only mod on my car is a K&N FIPK, and I'm
getting ~300 miles before the needle sits on E. Is that about right? Or is
something incredibly wrong here...? :(
