Maybe the Auto engineers finally talked to some electronic engineers and got 
it right!
 
I use ferrite beads with 50 ohm coax on high speed (100Mhz +) digital signal 
lines with the receiver end shield open. The source end shield is connected to 
"digital" ground. Not chassis or case ground.
