Does anyone know why Toyota intended these holes? I can't imagine them
adding an extra hole, and possibly having to increase design thickness
to account for it. I thought the oil squirters were added to deliver oil
to the bottom of the pistons, were talking about the holes in the rod
beneath the bearings right? I figured they were there to keep oil
against the bearing at all times, like the groves in the center of a
differential.

I believe the sets of Crower rods that I have also lacks these oiling
ports.

a set of carrillo's. I thought it was a
mfg error at first and called carrillo on it and yes, the bearings are
fed
through the crank and those holes are not necessary. I think all the
holes
on the oem pistons are for is to allow oil to escape upward and get the
bottom of the piston? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
