[Supras] Interesting problem...

I've popped freeze plugs on two seperate occations. My problem was
that my machine shop used Doorman freeze plugs which were a few thousands
too small. I replaced the drivers side only the first time because
the passenger side plugs wouldn't move when tapped with a hammer and
punch. 2 years later on the passenger side one popped out completely
and another was pushed out far enough to be pulled out by hand. All
appeared to be installed to the proper depth initially.

I run a Fluidyne radiator with a 16psi cap.
