I am back!
Ok I never went anywhere. Just busy and started to neglect my Supra. I was
leaning towards getting another car I would not have to keep working on.
Well looks like I blew a shock and ate up my 18 in tires with only 7,000
miles on them. So I felt it was time address my transportation issues I have
been looking at a BMW that I could modify. But then I stared doing the
numbers. I bought my 89 in 92 at 60,000 miles and sank a crap load of money
into in exchange for another 200,000 miles out of it on an HKS Metal HG.
200,000 miles in 15 years is not too bad considering my motorbike takes the
brunt of the miles these days.
So I drove new M3s and an older M5 and they are comfy but lack power and
handling of my 89T. With everything I have done make to make the Supra
comfortable (thanks to people here, especially the Jeff's) the idea of
dropping 30 grand+ on another car and modify it while the Supra is still
alive, really does not make sense. Especially because I believe I can put
the Supra back together for about 1,300. As I am still working to trying to
pay off student loans, keeping the Supra makes sense.
I need some suggestions on finding some parts. The main one is the lower
suspension arm. It is just ripped from the ST sway bar. I have a few
places to check this weekend. I am wondering if there is someone with an 89
parts car in the Clearwater/ Tampa area.
Also I am going back to stock springs with a good strut. If someone is
interested in some ST lowering springs with 10,000 miles on them let me
know.
Suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
James
