[Supras] upper mounts w/ non-coilover setup??

I was wondering if upper mounts that are offered with some coilovers
could be used with a standard performance shock (non-Tems) such as
Koni/Bilstein? I may have a blown shock (Tokico Illumina) and was
considering replacing them with a non-tems version until I have the
funds for good coilovers. I was thinking a upper mount may improve the
setup vs. the stock mounts. I have the front poly inserts in place now.

Opinions?
