Personally, I will not allow anything to fall into the combustion chambers. 
Oil pooled in the plug wells will collect all types of contaminates.
When the cam covers are removed, the head bolts will be accessible. The 
stock bolts are hex head (also known as allen cap screw). They require, if I 
remember correctly, a 10mm long hex bit socket.
Stock bolt torque is 56 ft lbs. I think Reg Riemer did some research and 
came up with a maximum torque value, for stock bolts, of 72 ft lbs. The 7M 
is known for head gasket failure. Torque the bolts to 72 ft lbs. This MAY 
reduce the chance of a blown head gasket.
