[Supras] Remote Starter Solnoid

well i'm not sure how everyone is wiring in the ford solenoid, but i just used mine to boost the signal from the factory relay. Basically cut the wire running to the starer solenoid, run the starter side to the out put of the new relay (30) run in input side of the relay (87) either to the battery, or loop it off of the battery feed for the starter depending on which is closer, use the original signal wire to the starter to terminal 85 and then ground 86. Its always worked well for me, i first tried it on my 87 GTS celica back in like 98, car wasn't wanting to start one day, and i figured out it was just a low voltage problem when it would start if i turned the key and activated the remote start at the same time lol. I added the relay and never had a problem again. Did the same to my Supra, when it started to develop the problem. Same w/ multiple other toyotas that i have owned since then.

  Only 30a?

Wow..Considering its a direct battery to starter connection..I would certainly use more than 30a.

funny thing is that i have done a simialr "fix" on many toyota including my
89 Supra, only i just used a regular 30 amp automotive relay. I'm sure
the relay wouldn't handle as much power as the ford part, but its just as
good as the original relay that toyota uses, and you shouldn't need more amp
    ability than stock.
