I just use the jumper and count the blinks for the codes and refer back to the TSRM on the supra and for that matter all of my previous OBD1 vehicles. Autozone will scan any OBD2 vehicle for free if you can get it to the store.

Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on scantools. Just wondering what's
the best for the Supras. I would love to have a universal scantool for
all cars, since I help out friends all the time, but not sure if that's
also gonna really cover me on the Supra best. Anyway, your thoughts and
opinions are appreciated! I did just buy the Ross-Tech scantool and
software that covers Audi and VW *very* well since I just added an Audi
to my pile, I mean collection :) Anyway, the next best I see is
autoenginuity, but, that's only OBD-II vehicles. Didn't know if anyone
knew of a good OBD-I & OBD-II combined product. I mean, if the best I
can do is one for VW/Audi, one for all other OBD-II cars, and another
for the Supra, then I guess that's what I gotta do. Just wondering if
anyone else on here has gone through that selection process as well...
The other main cars I'd be worried about are my Fieros if that helps.
But again, if 2 $100 tools work better for each car than 1 $250
"universal" tool, then, I'd go with the car-specific tools and worry
about a universal one later...

Thanks,
Joel
