Bernie,
Keep the undercover. You've already done yourself a huge favor by increasing thermal efficiency and reducing charge pressure drop with your i/c upgrade. Don't shoot yourself in the foot now by crippling your cooling system! Is it worth it for an additional what, 5-10 degree F charge air cooling (tops)?
