I have, and after 500 miles on the way back to the shop, it died. Got a free replacement, tore it down, had a bad woodrif key slot on the crank. Got another free replacement, tore it down, did a rebuild, kept the pistons and rods, but the JDM needed new cam shafts....$320+, rebuilt the head, for another $500 + new gaskets, oil pump, bearings etc.
JDM's with "less than 30,000 miles" or whatever, are still old. I like my 87 NA and didn't mind the cost, and new paint, some new interior, MKV rims and new tires, rotors, yada yada yada. But I would never again just swap a motor. Unless you have unlimited shop time to redo what you just did, I'd suggest the rebuild.
Just my .02
Good luck, Gregg
