[Supras] How much longer for our beloved?

I hope this thread continues --- it technically isn't about Supras, but it
is very much relevant to us Mk3 owners who are now needing to buy a new car
at some point --- relevant because, as longtime Mk3 owners, we share similar
beliefs, aesthetics, goals, etc. for what a new car should have --- given
that we're now relegated to having to find a non-Supra vehicle since Supras
haven't been made in almost a decade.

I am in the same boat --- I have never NOT owned a Supra in my nearly 16
years of owning cars. And yes, I'm counting my very first car -- a 1980
Toyota Celica ST coupe -- as a "Supra" because it was all I could afford
back in 1992 and it was basically a 4-cyl Supra :-)

So my car-buying has been as such:

1992-1993: 1980 tan Celica ST coupe
1993-1996: 1982 black Mk2 Supra
1996-1999: 1987 powder blue Supra Turbo
1999-present: 1992 black Supra Turbo

That's it. My car has now hit 170,000 miles, of which I have put on exactly
100,000 myself. I love the car and won't get rid of it, but it is 15 years
old. Also, being hearing-impaired, it's a bit too loud for me to be able to
hear people in the passenger seat and understand what they're saying. The
loudness also makes listening to music tougher, forcing me to crank up the
volume. I guess mod'ing our Mk3s does this :-D

So I'm looking for a new car pretty soon as well, for DD purposes. "New"
meaning either brand-new, or a 1-3 yr old "certified pre-owned". I agree
with Chris that the G35 just doesn't have the looks, unfortunately. Plus,
part of me is just kind of anti-Nissan, for no real reason per se. I'd love
the incoming 2008 Skyline GTR (I refuse to just call it GTR as it's being
branded here in the States), but $65-70k? ouch.

Candidates I've included thus far:

2005-2006 Volkswagen Phaeton -- this one's a behemoth, probably too
heavy. But the 12-cyl W12 is sweet, and the car is basically an Audi A8
with a less-prestigious badge.
2008 BMW 1-series -- new, kinda small, but has gotten decent reviews
late-model BMW 3- or 5-series -- duh.
late-model Audi A6 -- pricey.

I care less about 2 vs. 4 doors, that's not a huge deal. My two biggest
considerations are power/torque and quietness. Usually, these are
diametrically opposed concepts, which is what's making this car-shopping
difficult. Obviously a used Lexus LS430 or LS600 would do the job, but that
seems a bit large, stuffy, etc. Perhaps the latest-gen ES350 would do the
trick, who knows.

If price were REASONABLY not an object (meaning, not including wild stuff
like Ferraris, Aston Martins, etc.).... I would really like an Audi S8, the
sport version of their flagship A8 sedan. But that's pretty much 6-figures,
so forget that.

I'd be interested if anyone has come across a late-model car that does a
fantastic job of providing great power/torque, yet is eerily quiet. That's
really what I'm looking for.
