Performance tires at/near freezing are 1/2 of what they'll be like in warmer
weather..and in some cases downright dangerous.
The compound wont soften up and become compliant enough that cold.
I MIGHT see 38-40d in the AM where I live, and the first few miles I can
feel where the tires sat overnight, feels like a flat spot, but it comes out
after they warm up in about a mile (of my driving)..which I ensure you, is
never in a straight line.
Here is the interesting 2/3rds of it everyday:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&saddr=Saratoga,+CA&daddr=95006&sll=37.17079,-122.154626&sspn=0.314608,0.692139&ie=UTF8&ll=37.235659,-122.086258&spn=0.078584,0.173035&z=13&om=1
I got about...25k out of my last set. And that was on a _great_ alignment
by someone who understands the dynamics of how an alignment works.
I also get about 30k out of a set of brake pads, and they get solid use as
well.
But..for the last 4 months this has been my daily drive, or at least most of
it, back & forth to job site.

I -do- exercise my hardware.
