[Supras] Tire recomendation

Need some recommendations regarding rear tires which will last for a
while, yet will have enough traction for a mildly modified engine which
feels a let better than stock: 550cc, Lex, 15-17 PSI boost, 57 trim
CT26, 3" turbo back exhaust, MHG and the customary mods which go with
it. Right now I have Bridgestone 275/40/ZR17's on the rear, bought new
(the car is a '91 but has '98 17" MkIV wheels). First gear is useless
at WOT with reasonable street tires, which is expected, unless I want to
wind up in the weeds or against a guard rail. But it sometimes starts
to wheel hop at about 4500 RPM in second as well. Yeah, I could add
traction bars to stop wheel hop, but there would still be the need to
gain traction.

There are some 1000 HP MkIV videos on YouTube which do not gain traction
at WOT until 70 MPH, but I'm probably not much over 300 HP at the
flywheel, yet 4500 RPM in second gear is about 50 MPH, as a guess.

Last time I looked at tires for a compromise between tread life and
traction was decades ago in my GTO and Firebird days. Although I do not
anticipate driving in snow (or rain for that matter), I might
occasionally get caught in something unexpected. So slicks are out.
This car was intended to be a (30% of the time) daily driver.

Comments would be appreciated.
