[Supras] Cars that think on their own....way, WAY to much

Hello all, yet again. Life here at the bottom of the Supra learning curve is a bit taxing, at times. Give me a boat to fix and I'll have some clue. But this car.....

In Rod Serling's words: "Imagine, if you will, a Supra....."

Okay, NOW, the freakin' thing is possessed. We have a security system issue. My son has no remote fob; and there is no key cylinder in the driver's door. Under the hood, there is a horn that has the wires cut. When he gets out and closes the door, the car locks itself. What has happened in the past is that when he opens the door, all the lights start flashing. He gets in, turns the key on and pushes a little button under the dash and to the left of the steering. Sometimes, this feature just stops working and will not start again until codes are erased by removing the negative battery terminal.

This weekend, we did the knock sensor rewire and everything went exactly the way it was supposed to, per the tech center article. The right ECU wire, clear and to the bottom right of the center ECU harness plug, etc. It was a no-brainer. We erased the knock code and lo and behold, the crate had no more reoccurring codes! We were GOLDEN! Now, when my son opens the driver's door, the head lights OPEN AND TURN ON, and the regular horn beeps! He has to go and unlock the passenger door to make it stop. The horn stops, the lights turn off and retract. This has also gone off in the middle of the night, by itself, it seems.

I ask you all? What the frig am I dealing with THIS time? Do I ground terminal TE1 three times to a passing milk truck and once to a one-legged elf, alternately two times while simultaneously touching my tongue to E1? Is there a way to disable this alarm? Should he get a remote? How does he know what to get? VIN?

Thanks,
Bill
