A while back we discussed on the forum about the
use of electric fans to cool the engine as opposed
to the mechanical one as a means of achieving improved
performance. Well, after a few years use in my MK3
with this conversion, I would like to restate my position.
Yes, the dual electrics still work and I have not experienced
overheating or even temp needle creep. BUT, the this setup
leaves the AC condenser (located behind the chargecooler
with high pressures. Therefore, I have decided to remove the dual
14" and return the engine driven fan and clutch back to their
original position. It seems that Florida weather just taxes the
engine compartment airflow design of this car. I wil reintstall
the small 5" single elecrical, shroud and also a condenser pusher fan.
