Dumb question here; but we have a code 42, speed sensor. Is this because the
speedometer doesn't work? (Duh.) (I have a short drive cable ordered; as it
is busted.) Does this have anything to do with the air bag light?


Doubtful

If you (or someone else) pulled the cluster without disconnecting the
battery it set a code

It is a convoluted process to clear it and until you do it once it is hard
to get your mind around it. BTDT more times than I care to admit
